July Reading Plans

I honestly don’t know where June has gone. It seems to have disappeared somewhere under the pile of boxes waiting to be unpacked in my new house. I’d forgotten how draining the moving process is, and with a lot of stuff arriving that had been in storage for years it had felt a little overwhelming at times.

All of which to say, June ended up being a very slow reading month for me. I did finish a couple of things from my currently reading shelf that I mentioned in my reading plans from a month ago, but I’ve also picked up other things so the number of things I’m part way through has not actually decreased.

One of the joyful things has been unpacking boxes of books that have been in storage and rediscovering a lot of gems. There have been a few casualties, things that I’ve realised I am no longer interested in reading which have found themselves donated to the village charity shop. But there have also been a few things that I’ve felt the urge to pick up and read right away.

So my reading plans for July are basically: I have no plans. I’ll hopefully continue with the things I am already reading and maybe finish a few more of them, but my brain definitely needs the space created by mood reading as I adjust to my new house and new job. I’m excited to uncover a few more forgotten treasures amongst all the boxes.

Have you made reading plans for July?

  1. Omg so many boxes… I can imagine the process is overwhelming!
My main reading plans for July are: try to read one book at a time and see if that helps me make faster progress. And I am away on vacation for 2 weeks so I will mainly be reading all the ebooks. But which ones…? Who knows?
